House slice #1

2012
A hollow wooden house vessel filled layer upon layer with a variety of soft materials. The sculpture is displayed in two uneven halves revealing a cross section of their solidified and mirrored interior layers. This piece was accompanied by a video of the artist sawing open the house form with a two-man buck saw, herself mirrored at the other end of the saw. The video runs on a constant loop and the digitally twinned performers never make any progress with their sawing.
